Yu-Gi-Oh! is an exciting universe based on a card game played with Monsters, Spells, and Traps.

Heart of the Underdog is a casual, alternate format of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG for local tournaments. It is designed to encourage Duelists to use their Deck building skills to build a Deck using a Deck Type that is not prominent in the current metagame.

Event structure and house rules:

• Please check in at the front desk to have a table assigned – no pumpkin-patchin’!
• Entry Fee: €6
• Game one starts at 18:15 on the dot.
• Game rounds are 45 minutes with 5 minute breaks between rounds.
• Format: Tier 1 – Swiss
• Deck Format: Advanced or Traditional.
• The event is capped at 45 people. 
• The number of rounds of swiss will depend on how many people participate in the event.
• Drinks & snacks are available on location and outside sources are not allowed.
• Be respectful to the space and other people playing
• As an added bonus there will be someone there willing to teach any newcomers who are wanting to learn the game.

Prizes

• €4 from the entry fee will be added to the pot and divided up among the top 8 in the form of store credit.
• Each participating player will receive an OTS tournament pack.

Deck Construction

• The tournament can use either the Advanced or Traditional Forbidden & Limited List.
• Normal deckbuilding rules apply to building an Advanced or Tradional deck.
